Co founder of Los Empresarios DC. Eighteenth Street Lounge alum. Selector, producer and curator of old skool hip hop, reggae, house and world sound.
Some DJs chase the moment. Sonny Cheeba helps build the moments people talk about for years.
It started at twelve years old with two turntables and a room to rock. It grew through the DC scene until Sonny and Javier Miranda founded Los Empresarios, fusing Latin rhythm, reggae, funk and hip hop into a sound the District claimed as its own. The Eighteenth Street Lounge era put that sound in front of the city night after night.
The journey continues. New sets, new productions, new rooms. Same crates, same craft, same love for the culture that started it all.
The first gig, booked by a teacher who believed before anyone else did. The craft begins.
